I’ve been in international education for 21 years in Europe, Asia and Africa as a teacher, curriculum coordinator, counselor and social-emotional consultant for student well-being and child protection. I'm currently enjoying a sabbatical before deciding where to turn my professional attentions to next. In my free time, I enjoy hiking with my husband, spending time with friends and making new ones, long drives in the countryside, listening to music and podcasts, dancing, baking, reading, consumption of cheese and chocolate, and napping.
When I left the U.S. for Germany in 2002, I was sure I would be gone for two years and then resume my life in Washington state. A few decades and 50+ countries traveled later, I continue to thrive through new experiences and connections with others.
My mother-in-law lives in Sardinia and my trips there have been without parallel. It's an island full of fascinating architecture and landscapes, wild nature, roaming animals, eye-catching murals painted on the sides of buildings, vast beaches, turquoise waters, delicious food and welcoming locals.
