I’ve been in international education for 23 years in Europe, Asia and Africa as a teacher, curriculum coordinator, consultant for child protection, and counselor in my own practice. In my free time, I enjoy hiking with my husband, spending time with friends and making new ones, long drives in the countryside, listening to music and podcasts, dancing, baking, reading, consumption of cheese and chocolate, and napping.
When I left the U.S. for Germany in 2002, I was sure I would be gone for two years and then resume my life in Washington state. A few decades and 50+ countries traveled later, I continue to thrive through new experiences and connections with others.
I am lucky enough to have a mother-in-law who lived in Sardinia before her passing. My trips there have been without parallel. It's an island full of fascinating architecture and landscapes, wild nature, roaming animals, eye-catching murals painted on the sides of buildings, vast beaches, turquoise waters, delicious food and welcoming locals.
